A Total of 5,579 motorcyclists died in crashes in 2020. That is the highest number recorded and an 11 percent increase from 2019. Motorcycle deaths accounted for 14 percent of all motor vehicle crash deaths in 2020 and were more than double the number of motorcyclist deaths in 1997.
Motorcycles are less stable and less visible than cars and often have high performance capabilities. When motorcycles crash, their riders lack the protection of an enclosed vehicle, so they're more likely to be injured or killed. The federal government estimates that per mile traveled in 2019, the number of deaths on motorcycles was nearly 29 times the number in cars.
In the late 1970s the proportion of fatally injured motorcyclists who were 50 and older started to increase, rising from 3 percent of all rider deaths in 1975 to 14 percent in 1997 and 36 percent in 2020. In contrast, 26 percent of the fatally injured motorcyclists in 2020 were younger than 30, compared with 80 percent in 1975.

Supporting mothers as they navigate life after loss
Support: After experiencing loss, mothers often face waves of emotions that can last a lifetime. Our community offers validation, a listening ear, and non-judgmental comfort. With our support, no mother grieves alone; help is just a phone call away.
Community: Mothers who have lost a child often feel isolated in their healing journey, especially as time goes by. Many grieving mothers feel misunderstood or judged for the duration of their grief. Our Grieving Mothers Rise community connects mothers with others who understand their feelings and the emptiness that follows such a loss. Together, they gain strength, learn ways to honor their children's memory, and strive to live fulfilling lives despite their grief. Each member receives a membership rolodex with names, numbers, and email addresses to help build this community.
Resources: Licensed therapists and bereavement counselors are available to support our grieving mothers. Members will receive a list of counselors and therapists to aid in their healing process.
Navigation: Our community brings grieving mothers together to enjoy life. We host Zoom and live events, offering new ways for mothers to connect and find joy with others who understand their healing journey.
Launch Event:

JORDAN LOVED PEOPLE AND INSPIRED MANY WITH HIS KIND WAY. EXEMPLIFY JORDAN BY DOING RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS FOR OTHERS.
Jordan Cofields' family started The Jordan Cofield Scholarship to keep his memory and his legacy alive. Jordan was equally serious about his scholastic abilities as he was his athleticism. This is an annual scholarship that will be awarded and evenly distributed between 6 student athletes (male &/or female of diverse backgrounds and ethnicities) enrolled in an HBCU, who also excels scholastically with a GPA of at least 3.0. Funds will be made to the HBCU the student attends or plans to attend once account information is provided. The Jordan Cofield Scholarships will be awarded at our formal fundraising gala annually in August. Jordans' family and board members of the Jordan Alexander Cofield Foundation will review all applications and choose the 6 recipients who most closely resemble the legacy Jordan left behind- a spirit of excellence. Your donations will keep Jordans' legacy alive and aid deserving, hard-working student athletes in reaching their educational goals. 100% of our donations and fundraising initiatives go to our scholarship fund.
